Unlike wind and solar energy, biogas can be produced regardless of climatic and weather conditions, and Ukraine has a very large biogas recourse.

 

The expected annual potential of biogas in Ukraine is 3.2 billion cubic meters. At the moment, Ukraine can generate a bit more than 50 MW of energy from biogas.

 

According to IRENA’s estimates, this figure can potentially reach 290 MW and in 2050 Ukraine’s biogas potential can grow up to 8 GW.
